Since publishing this story, Network Ten has announced the death of MasterChef Australia judge Jock Zonfrillo on April 30, 2023.
“MasterChef Australia” is back for its 15th season, and we are on the edge of our seats! This time, “MasterChef Australia” 2023’s theme is “Secrets & Surprises,” promising loads of twists and turns to keep us hooked. And with familiar faces at the helm, we know we’re in for some delicious surprises!
To make things even more exciting, this season will feature a star-studded lineup of world-class guest chefs, including the one and only Jamie Oliver! He’ll be kicking off the series with two special episodes offering a chance to earn a game-changing secret advantage that will alter the course of the competition for one talented cook.
With only 18 coveted aprons up for grabs this season, the competition is fiercer than ever. The contestants come from all walks of life, including optometrists, carpenters, nutritionists, and youth workers. They’re all hoping to prove they have what it takes to be crowned Australia’s “MasterChef” 2023 and take home the grand prize of $250,000.
So, When Is “MasterChef Australia” 2023 On?
The hit show was set to premiere May, 1 at 7:30pm, but Network 10 has confirmed that it will be delayed due to the sudden passing of beloved judge, Jock Zonfrillo. With the full support of Jock Zonfrillo’s family, “MasterChef Australia” will now air at 7.30pm on Sunday, 7 May. A special edition of “The Sunday Project” will pay tribute to Jock from 6.30pm on Sunday, 7 May.
In a statement on the “MasterChef Australia” Instagram page, they wrote: “Network 10 and Endemol Shine Australia are deeply shocked and saddened at the sudden loss of Jock Zonfrillo, a beloved member of the MasterChef Australia family. Jock passed away in Melbourne yesterday.”
