But the heat is ramping up this week as a range of guest judges are headed to the kitchen.

Jacqui Challinor Enters the “MasterChef” Kitchen
Jacqui Challinor is a highly acclaimed chef and the Head Chef of Nomad, a renowned restaurant in Sydney. With her expertise in Australian-focused produce and a passion for hands-on culinary processes, Jacqui has become a prominent figure in the culinary world.
She is set to bring her culinary prowess and expertise to the kitchen as she goes head to head with the “MasterChef Australia: Secrets & Surprises” home cooks.
Who Is Jacqui Challinor?
Jacqui’s culinary journey began back in 2006 when she embarked on an apprenticeship at Sydney’s organic café group, About Life. What was initially intended as a stepping stone to explore other food-related fields quickly turned into a deep love for the fast-paced and collaborative world of the commercial kitchen.
Following her apprenticeship, Jacqui joined the prestigious Merivale hospitality group in 2007. She had the opportunity to learn from talented chefs such as Christopher Whitehead at Mad Cow and Lauren Murdoch at Felix, expanding her culinary skills and knowledge along the way.
In 2013, Jacqui’s career took an exciting turn when she joined the opening team at Nomad. Drawn to the restaurant’s back-to-basics approach and emphasis on cheese, charcuterie, and bread made from scratch, she found herself right at home. Nomad’s wood-fired oven became the beating heart of the kitchen, inspiring Jacqui to create innovative and mouthwatering dishes using the finest Australian ingredients.
It wasn’t long before Jacqui’s talent and dedication propelled her to the position of Head Chef in 2014. Since then, she has led the kitchen with flair, ensuring that Nomad maintains its well-deserved status as a hatted restaurant in the prestigious Good Food Guide by SMH and The Age.
In 2021, Jacqui assumed the role of Executive Chef of the NOMAD Group, overseeing the operations of the Sydney restaurant and preparing for the exciting upcoming opening of NOMAD Melbourne. Her vision and expertise continue to drive the success and expansion of the NOMAD brand, promising new culinary adventures for food enthusiasts.
