After Jock Zonfrillo’s devastating death in April 2023, the question of who could possibly fill his shoes has loomed large over the “MasterChef Australia” franchise. Then, Melissa Leong announced that she would be stepping away from “MasterChef Australia” to focus on the second season of “MasterChef: Dessert Masters”.

“Over the past four years, ‘MasterChef Australia’ has infused my life with something truly magical,” Melissa said in a statement. “It has provided me with life-changing experiences that have given me the courage to continue to put myself outside of my comfort zone.”

But now, the show welcomes three new culinary luminaries to the judging panel. Alumnus Poh Ling Yeow, renowned food critic and journalist Sofia Levin, and multi-Michelin Star award-winning chef Jean-Christophe Novelli are stepping into the limelight, and they’re poised to bring their expertise and passion to the kitchen.
