Estelle Landy Explains How She Manifested Friendship With Justin Bieber

Big Brother Australia‘s Estelle Landy is many things. She’s an endurance challenge beast, the most nominated housemate in Big Brother history, and oh yeah, she’s friends with Justin Bieber. Yes, that one. The one and only.

When chatting to POPSUGAR Australia over the phone after her untimely eviction from the BB house, we honestly wouldn’t have been doing our jobs correctly if we didn’t ask for the scoop on the Biebs, so we put on our #journalism caps and got the tea.

The first thing we wanted to know was if they were still friends. The answer? Yes!

“Yeah, we’re still friends!” Estelle said, adding: “I did an Instagram live with him last year and we were talking about lockdowns.”

As for how the pair became friends, well, she manifested it, basically!

“I sound kind of woo-woo and like a crazy lady, but hear me out anyway!” she laughed.

Estelle explained that she has “this ability in [her] life” that basically puts her faves right in front of her.

“I don’t know if it’s manifesting or there’s some sort of magic that goes on,” she began, “in that there’s been key people that I’ve kind of really thought about and respected and loved, [and] I just seem to be in the right place at the right time!”

“One of my gifts I guess is human connection, so I don’t know!” she mused.

As for how it went down with Bieber, Estelle said that she “I just happened to be at this tiny little mountain outside of LA called Big Bear, snowboarding on this exact day” that Justin was also there.

“Even the fact that I was there, I was supposed to be somewhere else snowboarding but I’d had a concussion, and it’s this weird series of events that I ended up at this mountain, and he had 40 security around him, and his security weren’t letting anyone in!” she recalled.

But Estelle was not deterred.

“I was just like ‘hey man, what’s up’,” she said. “And he was like, straight away ‘I love your accent’, and I was like ‘are you flirting with me?’ it was like, immediately, real people can connect with real people.”

Noting that she didn’t “mean that in a conceited way”, she clarified: “I think he was just like ‘oh, you’re treating me like a human’, and I think for someone like Bieber, that was so refreshing.”

The duo became fast friends, hanging out for that whole day, and he even invited her to his birthday party the next day, which Estelle said was “so much fun”.

Since then, the pair have “stayed in touch”, and Estelle said that “he is actually such a genuine person”.

“It’s funny, people just forget that everyone’s just human underneath, always,” she said. “He wants to change the world for the better.”
