Layla Subritzky Has Returned to Big Brother Australia — and This Time, She’s In It to Win It
Big Brother Royalty vs New Contenders has seen the return of some of the show’s most loved contestants, one of them being Layla Subritzky. After placing runner-up in 2012, Subritzky went viral on the internet after making a faux music video with her Big Brother housemates.
Now, a decade later, not only can we not stop humming Oats A La Layla, but we get to see her on our screens for the second time. Before her first stint on the show, British-born Subritzky had only lived in Australia for a few short weeks. It’s safe to say that coming second on Big Brother Australia was not something she thought would happen even in her wildest dreams.
“It was amazing. I had just moved to Australia. Being inside the house taught me so much about the people here. I created incredible, lifelong friendships. I walked out with a different lens on the world,” she told Channel 7.
Since then, the reality TV star has appeared on Celebrity Apprentice, but her list of television gigs stop there. Before coming on Big Brother Royalty vs New Contenders, Subritzky worked as a beautician before pivoting into a career in disability community support.
After coming so close the first time around, the 34-year-old is back to redeem herself and take home the crown. “I want to show that my growth since leaving last time has been vast. I want to show that I can win and smash the challenges.”
Big Brother Royalty vs New Contenders airs at 7pm on Channel 7 and 7Plus.
