It seems like yesterday The Voice Australia premiered, with a crop of talented new vocalists taking the stage in the hopes to impress the coaches. It’s been a long journey, and after the Blinds, the Battles and the semi-final, we finally have our top four.
Victorian Lachie Gill from Team Rita, Victorian Thando Sikwila from Team Keith, NSW artist Jordan Tavita from Team Guy and Queensland’s Faith Sosene from Team Jess will go head to head for the grand prize.
On Sunday night, Jordan secured his place in the Grand Finale over Cassidy Mackie after performing a stunning rendition of Foreigner’s I Want To Know What Love Is, dedicating the song to his Nanna.
“She took her last breath two nights ago,” he said. “I just know my Nanna is looking down at me right now saying you better come through, so I’m going to do this for her.”
Upon finding out he’s moving on to the final stage, an elated Jordan said: “My head is still spinning, Guy, let’s get to work!”
Keith found himself at a crossroads after Thando and fellow contestant Lane Pittman took to the stage.
“You’re storytellers,” he said. “You’ve both shown huge leaps of growth from the Blinds to here and I think for all of us coaches that’s the number one thing we are looking for: Someone that is going to evolve and grow as an artist every step of the way. You have both done that equally. It’s extraordinary.”
In the end, however, Thando secured her spot in the Grand Finale with her performance of Ariana Grande’s POV against Lande’s Father And Son by Cat Stevens. Keith gave Thando a “100 out of 100”.
“Thank you so much for believing in me. I cannot believe that I am the last woman standing on your team,” she said.
Lachie passed the semi-final with flying colours with his captivating rendition of Deja Vu by Olivia Rodrigo. Faith’s powerful delivery of Beyonce’s Listen moved Jess to tears and guaranteed her spot in the final four.
So, When Is the Grand Finale for The Voice Australia?
Voting is now open for Australia to decide who will be crowned the winner of The Voice Australia 2022, with the champion taking home $100,000 in prize money and a recording contract with Universal Music Australia.
