The Voice Australia Is Returning With a Fresh Group of Talented Vocalists
The Voice Australia is returning to entertain us once again, with over 60 talented vocalists taking to the arena to sing their hearts out. Coaches Guy Sebastian, Rita Ora, Jessica Mauboy and Keith Urban are sitting back down in their seats as they pick out the best and brightest to be on their team.
Earlier in the year, The Voice returned with a Generations spin-off, which saw contestants of all ages compete alongside their loved ones. The special went on for a week, and now, the show is returning to its regular format on April 18.
We’ve already met some of the singers set to appear on the show, with Channel 7 releasing new previews in the lead up to the season.
Last year, Bella Taylor Smith from Team Guy took home the prize, which was a cool $100,000 and a contract with Universal Music Australia.
She’s going to be a tough act to follow, as she proved to be a vocal powerhouse. From the very beginning, she was the fan favourite, after she delivered one soulful rendition after another.
This year, one of the contestants include professional jockey, Robbie Dolan, who moved to Australia from Ireland in 2016.
“I don’t know anything technical about music, but I’ve always been singing in the car, on the way to the races and in the shower,” he said, adding, “I’m not too sure if I can even sing well enough for something like this. I just know that I love singing, it’s definitely from the heart.”
While he admitted to having no formal singing training, he still managed to blow the judges away after his performance of James Bay’s Let it Go.
Guy Sebastian exclaimed: “That’s what this show is about; actually finding people who don’t know how good they are.”
The Voice Australia premieres on Monday, April 18 on Channel 7 and 7plus.
