This week has been a big seven days for reality TV. Brooke Blurton made her debut as the first Indigenous and pansexual Bachelorette and Channel 10 announced the new format for the 2022 season of MasterChef Australia.
Ryan Reynolds announced a sabbatical from acting and MAFS couple Bryce and Melissa welcomed twin boys, a lot happened so let’s get into it.

Ryan Reynolds Takes a Break From Acting
Everyone’s favourite funny guy Ryan Reynolds has announced that he will be taking a brief sabbatical from acting, following the wrap of his latest movie. While the news has come as a surprise, it makes sense as the Deadpool star was one of the busiest actors of 2021.
The actor is currently promoting the release of two different movies — The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard and Free Guy — with a third on the way next month (Netflix’s Red Notice). Before announcing the break, Ryan was busy filming Spirited, a comedy Christmas movie starring Will Ferrell and Octavia Spencer. The 44-year-old opened up about his experience in a social media post while stating that he will be taking a break from acting.
Ryan didn’t specify just how long this break will last, but there’s no denying that it’s very well deserved.

Bryce and Melissa Welcome Twin Boys
Congratulations are in order for former Married At First Sight couple Melissa Rawson and Bryce Ruthven, who have welcomed twin baby boys.
Arriving 10 weeks earlier than planned, the couple spoke to New Idea to share the exciting news.
“We had planned to spend the weekend building the nursery and setting things up for the twins, but that all changed early Saturday morning,” said the doting dad.
“Even though the boys have arrived early, they’re doing really well and are getting the best care possible.
“The staff at Frankston Hospital were amazing with Liss making her feel comfortable and we can’t thank them enough for all their efforts!
“The boys are going to spend a few weeks in NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit), they’re responding well to treatment and are squeezing our fingers which is the best feeling in the world.”
Melissa and Bryce first met on Married At First Sight, after they were paired up by the experts on the show. Since then, the two have been riding the pregnancy journey together, first announcing the news in July.

MasterChef Announces New Format For 2022
Channel 10 have announced a number of new shows for 2022 but one that stood out the most is one that’s been on the air for 13 years now. MasterChef Australia is set to return to our screens next year, but with a twist.
MasterChef Australia: Foodies vs Favourites will star 12 returning MasterChef stars alongside a dozen everyday home cooks. Alvin Quah, Sarah Todd, Michael Weldon and Julie Goodwin will return to the kitchen and have their creations judged by Melissa Leong, Jock Zonfrillo and Andy Allen.
“We are back for another action-packed season of thrills, chills and kitchen spills… we couldn’t be more pumped! Add to that a handful of new MasterChef foodies going head-to-head with beloved characters from the MasterChef universe over the years… and then of course there’s Julie Goodwin!” said Melissa.

The Bachelorette Australia Kicks Off
The Bachelorette Australia aired its first episode on Wednesday night, and wow, what a stunning start. Starring Brooke Blurton as the first Indigenous and pansexual Bachelorette, the current season is historical for the franchise. In a move that has never been done before, both men and women are present in the mansion this year, hoping for a place in the 26-year-old’s heart.
We’ve already seen the contestants walk the red carpet, have placed bets as to who will be the last person standing, and in true bachie fashion, the drama has kicked off from the very first episode. It’s petty, it’s intense but as viewers, we just can’t seem to look away. This is Brooke’s third time on a reality show, first appearing on Honey Badger’s season of The Bachelor, and then later on Bachelor In Paradise. Let’s hope the third time’s a charm.
But the best part about watching The Bachelorette every Wednesday and Thursday is the memes and tweets that come out of it. As viewers, there are moments during the show where we collectively think, “WTF?”, and it’s nice to see those thoughts hilariously illustrated on the internet. While we’re all rooting for Brooke to find her lifelong love, we can’t help but share the funniest posts we spotted after the show finished airing.

Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Baker are Engaged
Everyone’s most favourite loved up couple announced their engagement earlier in the week. Travis Barker proposed to Kourtney Kardashian in the most romantic way — on the beach surrounded by red roses.
After popping the question, family and friends of the couple enjoyed an intimate dinner celebrating the union.
But what everyone wanted to see was the ring. The huge oval-shaped diamond was hard to miss and has been estimated to be worth over a million dollars.
