Farmer Wants a Wife — AKA my favourite Australian dating show — is back in full swing, and this year’s farmers might just take the cake. They’re all such catches!

This season, we’re following Farmer Ben, 27, from Wingham, NSW, Farmer Harry, 24, from Kyabram, VIC, Farmer Will, 26, from Berriwillock, VIC, Farmer Benjamin, 33, from Guyra, NSW, and Farmer Paige — the show’s first female farmer — who’s 28 and from Cassilis, NSW.

Arguably the leading lady on Farmer Ben’s farm right now is Leish, a 31-year-old hospital administrator from Queensland.

Even before she’d met him IRL, Leish felt a connection with Farmer Ben.

“A friend sent me the link to Farmer Ben’s video, and I felt compelled to put my hat in the ring,” Leish said in a press statement.

“City dating hasn’t worked out for me so far in finding someone genuine who is looking for something long-term. I have always had a strong pull to the country with a number of family and friends living in country towns. I’ve always felt at home when visiting them.”

It seems as though she feels pretty at-home on Farmer Ben‘s farm too. After being chosen for the first 24-hour one-on-one date, Leish and Farmer Ben have basically only had eyes for each other. And the other girls have noticed.

Farmer Ben is a self-confessed romantic, who “falls hard and fast”, but is pretty well aware that he wants to break that habit. But, when a connection is as strong and Farmer Ben and Leish’s, is there much point in denying it?
