In an age when TikTok decides what we eat, it’s not unusual to go on a Bailey’s hunt at lunchtime on a Friday in order to try out a hot chocolate recipe you recently discovered. And that’s exactly what I did. As soon as I saw TikTok user @tamingtwins share their Bailey’s-spiked hot chocolate made in a slow cooker, I knew immediately I had to give it a go.
Now, I’m a fan of hot chocolate, but you’ll rarely find me jazzing it up. A boring simple Cadbury’s cocoa with a bit of milk and water and I’m good to go. Of course, a Bailey’s at Christmas is always a good idea, the only thing is that I’m a little lazy, so the idea of making a Bailey’s hot chocolate super easily in the slow cooker definitely appealed to me.
That, my friends, is why I found myself scanning the aisles at the supermarket for a bottle of Bailey’s on my lunch break. I followed the TikTok recipe to a T and all I can say is damn, it. was. decadent. Having said that, I absolutely added more Bailey’s than the original recipe called for. It’s so rich and creamy that it’s definitely something I’d have as a special treat, but hey, isn’t that what the festive season is for?
Ahead, see how I made TikTok’s slow-cooker Bailey’s hot chocolate at home.

Step 1: Gather Your Ingredients
To make six servings, you’ll need:
- 1 litre whole milk
- 300ml double cream
- 397g condensed milk
- 30g cocoa powder
- 200ml Bailey’s (editor’s note: I added much more because . . . Christmas)
- 150g dark chocolate chips (editor’s note: I used milk chocolate because it’s all I had)
- Whipped cream and marshmallows to serve

Step 2: Whack It in the Slow Cooker
The steps aren’t complicated on this, just whack it all in the slow cooker and give it a quick mix.

Step 3: Let It Slowly Warm Through
I let it heat up on high for about an hour and I did find that the cocoa was pretty lumpy throughout. For that reason, I would definitely recommend straining or using a mini whisk before serving.

Step 4: Add Your Finishing Touches
The finished result wasn’t particularly pretty, but I figured hot chocolate isn’t supposed to be, right? I added some mini marshmallows into the slow cooker before serving up using a ladle.

Step 5: Serve!
Ta-da! I added more whipped cream than I probably should but what a treat. This was super easy to make, especially if you’re serving a number of people who are coming back for seconds. I will definitely try this recipe again. Thanks, TikTok!
