Good news: “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom” collector’s edition pre-order is live ahead of the game’s release on May 12. The collector’s edition costs $189 and contains a special box featuring artwork from the game, a physical copy of the game, a SteelBook display case, an artbook, an ICONART steel poster, and a pin set containing four pins featuring symbols from the game.
The most glaring omission is the lack of a statue or replica à la “God of War Ragnarok’s” Thor hammer. This helps keep the price lower than most, and Nintendo is also releasing a Link amiibo for “Tears of the Kingdom”. The amiibo shows Link in a power pose using his mysterious, magical arm to cast the new Ultrahand ability.
Tapping the amiibo to your Nintendo Switch will give you special in-game weapons and materials, including a special fabric for Link’s paraglider. Nintendo has also confirmed that you can scan other Zelda amiibo to unlock additional rewards in “TOTK”. Pre-orders for the Link amiibo are also live for around $21, though prices vary slightly between retailers.
A special edition Zelda Switch OLED is also available — your Australian pre-order guide is here.
