Every Amiibo You Need for the Best “Tears of the Kingdom” Experience
ICYMI: amiibo are interactive figurines made specially for Nintendo games. By tapping an amiibo to your Switch, you can unlock special in-game rewards like new gear, character customisations, and companions. To go with the release of “Tears of the Kingdom”, Nintendo is releasing a new amiibo of Link using the magical arm we’ve seen in the game’s trailer. Activating this will give you access to materials, weapons, and a special fabric for Link’s paraglider — and existing The Legend of Zelda amiibo will also work with “TOTK”.
Most of the older amiibo are sold out, but a restock is scheduled to be fulfilled on May 12 to coincide with the “Tears of the Kingdom” release, and pre-orders are now open. To help you get the most out of “TOTK”, we’ve found where you can buy every Zelda amiibo in Australia.
Can You Reuse Amiibo?
You can activate each amiibo once per day. Because the exact items you get from each scan are randomised, there’s a hack that increases your chances of getting good items. Before you scan an amiibo, save your game. If you don’t like what you get, simply load the save and try again as many times as you like.
Link “Tears of the Kingdom” amiibo
The new Link amiibo will come out on the same day as the game, and pre-orders are now open. It will also unlock powerful weapons and items in “Breath of the Wild”, “Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity”, and “Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition”.
Link “Majora’s Mask” amiibo
Using this in “Tears of the Kingdom” will unlock a very creepy paraglider featuring the evil mask’s eyes.
Zelda and Loftwing amiibo
In “Skyward Sword HD”, this amiibo let you travel instantly between The Surface and The Sky. We’ve seen similar movements in the “Tears of the Kingdom” trailers, but so far all that’s confirmed is that it will unlock a special paraglider skin.
Rider Link amiibo
In “Breath of the Wild”, this amiibo unlocked an assortment of food and weapons, as well as Link’s trusty horse Epona. It’s unclear whether it will do the same in “TOTK”, but Nintendo has confirmed it will unlock a special paraglider skin.
Archer Link amiibo
No surprise that this drops a chest containing bows or elemental arrows, plus a smattering of food items and gems.
Zelda amiibo
This amiibo of Zelda as she appears in “Breath of the Wild” gives you a selection of items and a chest containing shields or rare gems, including star fragments.
Mipha amiibo
It may not grant you Mipha’s Grace, but this amiibo summons Zora weapons in “BOTW”, with a chance to drop the Silverscale Trident. It also unlocks the exclusive Divine Beast Vah Ruta Helm and may include something just as iconic in “Tears of the Kingdom”.
Urbosa amiibo
Scanning the Gerudo champion’s amiibo will give you a chest containing meat and weapons like the Moonlight Scimitar. She also gets you the Divine Beast Vah Naboris Helm.
Revali amiibo
The Rito champion graces you with bows, arrow bundles, fruit, and the Divine Beast Vah Medo Helm.
Daruk amiibo
Daruk, the champion of the Goron, summons precious ore and heavy, stone-based weapons. You might also get the flame resistant Divine Beast Vah Rudania Helm from him.
Guardian amiibo
Bring this feared “Breath of the Wild” enemy to life and gain high-tech Guardian weapons, shields, arrows, and ancient cores.
Bokoblin amiibo
Scanning this amiibo will net you Bokoblin weapons and shields — that are often boosted with stat bonuses — and the chance to get powerful elixirs.
