The epic conclusion to Kratos and Atreus’ Norse saga begins when God of War: Ragnarok comes out this month, and preloading has already started for the behemoth. (We’re talking scope and size with “behemoth”)
God of War: Ragnarok Preload Times
Everyone who’s bought the game digitally can start preloading it at any time. It’s a good thing, too, because the game is a chunky 84GB download on PS5 and an even chunkier 106GB on PS4.
Preloading is only available if you buy the game digitally from the PlayStation Store. You can get the standard edition for PS5 here, standard edition for PS4 here and the digital deluxe edition here, which comes with the Darkdale cosmetic set and other digital goodies. If you’d rather have the disc, the cheapest copy is from Amazon for $78 on PS4 and $99 on PS5 with free delivery.

In God of War: Ragnarok, Kratos and Atreus will once again be thrust into conflict with the Norse gods, this time over the fate of the world as Fimbulwinter rages on and Ragnarok draws close. They’ll journey across each of the Nine Realms — including the ones that were blocked off in the last game like Svartalfheim, home of the Dwarves and Vanaheim, home of the Vanir gods — meeting Asgardian forces, mythological heroes and fearsome enemies along the way, in a quest that will force them to choose between their own safety and the safety of the realms.
