Prepare For Ragnarok With PlayStation’s Official God of War Recap
After the first story details of God of War Ragnarok were revealed last month, PlayStation has released an official recap of the previous game to catch us up to speed.
Narrated by Felicia Day and Mimir (a character introduced in 2018’s God of War), the seven-minute video recounts Kratos and Atreus’ adventure through Midgard so far. If you haven’t played the previous game or if it’s been a while since you did, the recap will fill you in on everything you need to know before Ragnarok comes out on November 9.
Obviously, there are major God of War spoilers in the video, so steer clear if you still want to experience it for yourself. Everyone else can watch it here:
“It’s a story of adventure. A father and son working together to overcome insurmountable odds, setting in motion the greatest war the nine realms have ever seen,” the video begins.
A more in-depth story recap on the PlayStation Blog delves into major characters like Kratos, Atreus, Freya, Mimir and the Huldra brothers Brok and Sindri.
“Our story begins with an end, the funeral of Faye — mother to Atreus and wife of Kratos. Her last wish imparted to her family is to scatter her ashes on the highest peak in all the realms. This request begins a journey that forces father and son to work together as they face the dangerous Norse wilds filled with beasts, monsters, and less-than-friendly gods.”
God of War is free for PlayStation Plus members or $24.95 on the PlayStation Store. The PC version, which supports 4K resolutions, Nvidia DLSS and ultra-wide monitors, is $74.95.
The God of War: Ragnarok release date is November 9 for PS5 and PS4, and pre-orders are now live. The cheapest copy right now is from Amazon Australia, where it’s $98 on PS5 and $78 on PS4.
