I’ll be the first to admit that I’m no expert on festival fashion. Being a claustrophobic queen (self-disagnosed, of course), I prefer my live music at intimate gigs rather than mosh pits. I am, however, an expert on outfits for curvy babes that allow them to dance all night long.
Being a curve model, I’ve had a lot of experience trying on different styles of clothes. I’m also a professional dancer, so I know what materials breathe best on the dance floor. Additionally (yes, there’s more), I love a weekend boogie with the girls, so I know what looks cute on curves and lasts all night on any type of D-floor.
With all that in mind, I’ve pulled together 12 outfit ideas for curvy gals to wear to your next music festival, all of which will have you feeling fab all day (and night) long.
Cotton On Curve Utility Mini Dress
You can’t go wrong with a denim dress. This Cotton On Curve Utility Mini Dress ($69.95) is loose enough to be comfy, but belted to still give you shape. Denim is a great fabric to wear to a music festival, too, because it’s easy to clean and doesn’t look too bad if it gets dirty.
I’d wear this with some platform sneakers, like these Puma Mayze Classic Sneakers ($160) and some large hoop earrings like these Real Gold Plated Medium Hoop Earrings ($17.99).
Sunday in the City Mexican Radio Slip Dress
This Sunday in the City Mexican Radio Slip Dress ($99.99) is a good buy, because it’s versatile and can be dressed up or down. As a music festival outfit, I’d wear this with black combat boots like these Abbie Leather Lace Up Ankle Boots from Wittner ($270) a red lip, and a black leather jacket.
Atmos&Here Aliyah Long Sleeve Mini Dress
A short floral dress like this Atmos&Here Aliyah Long Sleeve Mini Dress ($79.99) is great for a full-day affair, as it’s maximum result for minimal effort. Just by wearing a loud print you stand out, and the cut of this dress gives your waist some shape, while allowing those hips to shake the day away.
This dress would look great with some platform brogues like these Dr Martin’s Adrian Tassel Loafers ($260) and a bunch of bangles on each wrist.
The Poetic Gypsy Brown Sugar Maxi Dress
The Poetic Gypsy Brown Sugar Maxi Dress ($119.99) gives a classic maxi silhouette; coming in at the waist and floating out in the skirt. This shape is great for complimenting curves, as it elongates the torso and highlights the waist. This dress would be suitable for any weather and any environment, making it great for a festival. You could dress it up or down too, depending on your mood.
To me, this screams a pair of combat boots and a felt hat, like this Subtitled Amara Felt Hat ($54.95).
Indigo Tonic Zoe Cord Overalls
Overalls are a practical and stylish choice for a festival outfit, and these Indigo Tonic Zoe Cord Overalls ($129.99) are a great colour. They’d be super comfy; made out of corduroy, which means you could dance easily in them. They’re also perfect if you want a bit of leg protection.
I’d pair these with platform boots or sandals, and a matching top underneath; depending on the weather.
Zim & Zoe Lounger Print Jumpsuit
Another jumpsuit-style but less structured than overalls is this Zim & Zoe Lounger Print Jumpsuit ($89.95).
I personally love jumpsuits, as they’re comfortable, easy to layer and super practical for a day spent outside.
I’d pair this with a dark lipstick and some fun earrings, maybe like these Multi Fruit Flower Earrings ($29.99).
Missguided Curve Plus Ribbed Seam Detail SS Mini Dress
This Missguided Curve Plus Ribbed Seam Detail SS Mini Dress ($24) is a basic bodycon dress that will hug your curves and make you feel so sexy you’ll want to shake that booty until your legs give way.
This dress is for the festival babes who really want to feel themselves on the D-floor. I’d go all out and pair this with stacks of gold jewellery, like this Zahar Elizabeth Chunky Gold necklace ($79.95), gold hoops and some platform boots.
CCX Olivia Pinafore
Take it back to Y2K with this CCX Olivia Pinafore ($109.95). I love the hints of purple in the tartan, giving it that extra party vibe that you want to bring to any music festival.
The way they’ve style it in this pic, with black boots and a long sleeve top, is super cute and would look great on any curvy babe.
B Free Intimate Apparel Curvy Bamboo Slip
This B Free Intimate Apparel Curvy Bamboo Slip ($54.95) is technically sleepwear, but who cares when it’s that hot?
If I were you, I’d wear this slip with no bra, my hair super natural and minimal make-up. Perhaps just a red lippy, if I was feeling extra spicy.
Pair it with boots like these Therapy Winona Boots ($119.95) and a fine gold chain necklace.
You & All Plus Midi Pulling Detail Dress
This You & All Plus Midi Pulling Detail Dress ($55.99) takes me straight to the streets in Cuba, salsa-ing the night away. It would also be a fab dress for a festival, with flattering ruching and a fun floral pattern.
I’d pair this with an oversized denim jacket, big silver hoops and some black boots.
City Chic Sarah Maxi Dress
I love a maxi and I love leopard print, so this City Chic Sarah Maxi Dress ($139.95) ticks all the boxes for me.
Pair it with sandals or boots depending on the season, and you literally can’t go wrong with the styling here. You could wear it by itself, with a leather jacket, denim jacket or even a fur vest. As for bling? Go big or go home. This dress would look great with red accessories, like these Red Beaded Flat Circle Drop earrings ($22.99) with a matching lippy. Bomb.
