The Bachelorette Australia is in full swing, and it’s time we got to know all the guys ‘n gals vying for the love and attention of our queen Brooke Blurton.
Meet 29-year-old Kurt Herzog, the champion swimmer-turned sports mentor hoping to win Brooke’s heart.
During his swimming career, Kurt competed at World Cups and international competitions around the world. His most notable achievement was competing alongside Olympic legend Grant Hackett in 2015 in the 4×200 freestyle relay, in which the team won bronze.
These days, Kurt works as a sports mentor at Magnussen’s Swim Squad, and describes himself as “random, adventurous, inquisitive and shy (at times)”. He also has a Bachelor of Sports Business.
Outside of the pool, Kurt spends his time guest speaking at schools, local sports clubs and community events. He even works as a lifeguard at Cherrybrook, so if you’re going for a swim there anytime soon, you can rest assured you’ll be safe!
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Kurt’s a big fan of staying active. He loves getting outdoors, and enjoys surfing, hiking, camping, and riding motorbikes.
Kurt says that he’s still single because life as a swimmer made him very accustomed to having his own “individual space and time”.
“When I was training as a swimmer, I was selfish of my time, and it has taken me a lot to change that,” he explained.
Although Kurt has been in love twice before, he’s never been in a long term relationship — a fact he hopes won’t be a red flag for Brooke.
Still, Kurt believes that he’s ready to fall in love, and says that his parents’ marriage has “shown him the importance of being around for the ups and downs”.
Of course, we can’t talk about Kurt without addressing that bod. Look, facts are facts, and the facts state that Kurt is a certified hottie. We don’t make the news, we just report it!
Don’t take our word for it, though. Not only does he gift us with shirtless snaps on the ‘gram, he also models swimwear for the brand Funky Trunks. Love that for him.
Whether he can go the distance in the race to Brooke’s heart remains to be seen, but he’s having a good time along the way. In a photo he posted of himself with Brooke donning matching trackies, Kurt joked in the caption: “Telling my kids this was Squid Game“.
Let’s hope for a happier ending, perhaps!
