Married At First Sight has always been messy, but last night’s dinner party took it to a whole new level. Domenica Calarco became the victim of revenge porn after Olivia Frazer allegedly took a naked photo of her from her OnlyFans account and circulated it amongst the group.
The image, which was shown without Domenica’s knowledge or consent, had viewers furious and left them questioning whether Olivia could get charged, as revenge porn is a criminal act in NSW, Australia.
During the episode, producers had asked the participants whether they had seen the photo and, from their responses, it seems the image had definitely made the rounds.
“Oh f–k are people bringing that up? I’ve been sent it,” said Samantha Moitzi. But things got worse when the dinner party kicked off, as the contestants “turned their backs” on Dom, as quoted by the experts.
Cody Bromley was the first person to bring it up, but his tone appeared to be accusatory as if he was blaming Dom for not being honest. Her husband Jack on the other hand took her side immediately, admitting that he knew about her OnlyFans account and didn’t care because they discussed it early in the experiment.
“The hard part here is that a large portion of this table has been privy to this photo, and that’s not on,” Jack told the group. Soon Olivia chimed in and said: “I’ll be honest when we had our thing, my friends Googled you. They showed me that and I mentioned it to Selina.”
But the experts weren’t buying it, saying Olivia was lying and simply taking revenge for the argument last week.
“This really smells like she’s got a vendetta tonight,” John Aiken said. “This is payback. She created all of this.”
The entire ordeal not only had those watching up in arms, but also Ashley Fletcher, an OnlyFans creator. Speaking to The Wash, Fletcher took aim at Olivia for attempting to humiliate and slut-shame another woman.
“How are we still shaming women for showing their bodies? I’m not sure why they are making a big deal out of it,” Fletcher told the site.
“Women are finally taking back their power after many years of men sending around nudes illegally,” adding that “the fact that it was leaked by another woman is absolutely horrific and very high school.”
She added, “It’s a betrayal of trust that women have each others back, no matter what. I hope she can seek legal advice after the show.”
Fletcher went on to say that “if Dom is confident in the photo, it’s no one’s business but her own. I love what I do and I’m damn proud of the content I post, and I’m sure she is too.”
But aside from the photo scandal, Fletcher also pointed out the double standards on the show.
“Why is it OK for Mitch to have his bare ass out on national television and it be glorified, but a photo of a woman she shared privately is classed as a scandal?” she said.
“The double standards being played over again in society are getting tiring. It’s revenge porn. It’s illegal. It shouldn’t be aired.”
Married At First Sight airs at 7.30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
