Kai Manning on Younger Is Played By an Aussie So Naturally, We Are Now Team Him

The seventh and final season of Younger has now begun streaming on Stan and it seems the show’s producers are doing what they can to ease our broken hearts.

After leaving us hanging at the end of season six, Younger is really making up for things by introducing some new eye candy into the mix by way of a surfer named Kai Manning.

If you have already watched the first four episodes of the show then you’ll know that Redmond brings Kai to Empirical hoping to capitalise on his abs Instagram following to write a book.

Kai is free-spirited and lives his life without boundaries, surfing around the world and enjoying errr…lots of special times with lady friends, but who is the actor that plays him and where have we seen him before?

Well, the actors name is Matt Passmore and he is a graduate of the prestigious National Institute of the Dramatic Arts (NIDA) in NSW.

Matt launched his acting career here in Australia, with a recurring role on McCleod’s Daughters as Marcus, Alex’s half-brother from 2006-2009 — but he had actually been on the show previously in a different part, playing the love interest of Bridie Carter’s character.

After heading to Los Angeles to pursue success Stateside, Passmore landed the lead role in a crime drama series called The Glades in which he played Detective Jim Longworth who, fun fact, gets shot in the tush by his captain who thought Jim was sleeping with his wife. He also played Ted Wynn in Netflix drama 13 Reasons Why and Logan Nelson in 2017s terrifying horror film Jigsaw.

According to his IMDb page, he is currently working on a film called Wrong Reasons and has another project called The Host App in post-production.

Matt is married to fellow actress Natalia Cigliuti (sorry!) and they have a really cute dog named Brizzy who has her own Instagram page @brizzy_the_boxer.

You can also keep up with Matt’s adventures on Instagram @mattpassmore11. You’re welcome!
