Grab your Akubras and hop in the ute, because baby, it’s time for Farmer Wants a Wife!
Natalie Gruzlewski is returning as host for her 10th season, and she’s as hyped as we are for the journey ahead.
“I’m so excited to guide our newest crop of nervous and loveable Aussie farmers in their search for true love,” she said in a statement.
“These farmers and ladies have opened their farms and hearts in the hope of finding their happily ever after, and it’s a privilege to be a part of their life-changing love stories,” Natalie added.
This year, we’ve been promised that “more than one” of our five new farmers will find their happily ever after, as Will, Matt, Sam, Andrew and Rob embark on their road to romance. Honestly, we’re hoping all five find The One, wouldn’t that be nice?!
“This farm, it’s my world. It’s my baby,” Farmer Matt said. “I’m a fourth-generation farmer; we need that fifth generation. We need some little rugrats running around here!”
“Love to me is everything,” Farmer Will said. “They write songs about it, they write poems about it. I’d be ecstatic to find the love of my life.”
So, here’s how it’s going to work. Out of the thousands of women who applied for the show online, each farmer chooses eight women to join him on a series of speed dates. The farmer then invites five of those women back to their farm to get to know them better and work out if one of them is the woman of his dreams.
But there’s a twist, because there is simply always a twist!
The woman who makes the most spectacular and memorable first impression during the speed dates will be given a head start: a full 24 hours of alone time with her farmer before the competition arrives. Juicy!
From there, it’s six weeks of whirlwind romance as our farmers get to know their five potential love interests and work out if they’re as compatible as he hopes. Meanwhile, the ladies will be working out not only if they feel a love connection, but whether farm life is really for them.
While only two couples from the 2020 Australian series led to a happily ever after ending, Farmer Wants A Wife remains the most successful and enduring reality dating series. The Australian series alone has resulted in nine marriages, one long-term relationship, and a whopping 23 babies.
Farmer Wants A Wife, premieres on Sunday, July 4 at 7.00pm on Channel 7 and 7plus.
