Euphoria Just Dropped its Trailer for Season 2 and it Looks Just as Wild as the First
Just in case you didn’t get enough of Zendaya in Spider-Man: No Way Home, the new trailer for season two of Euphoria has just dropped, and it looks just as wild as the first.
The two-and-a-half-minute video begins with Rue entering what seems like a Narcotics Anonymous meeting with a suitcase that she can’t seem to let go of. Her sponsor, Colman Domingo’s Ali, whom viewers met in Rue’s holiday special in January 2020, is sitting in the first row.
“When I first met her, I was just immediately in love,” says Rue in the voiceover, seemingly speaking of Hunter Schafer’s character Jules, her girlfriend from season one. “As soon as I saw her, I was just immediately afraid to lose her.”
Drugs aren’t the only addiction Rue is dealing with, with the teen forming an unhealthy attachment to her ex-girlfriend and former best friend. The trailer also features returning cast members Sydney Sweeney as Cassie, Jacob Elordi as Nate and Barbie Ferreira as Kat Hernandez to name a few.
In the upcoming instalment, it seems Rue’s need for drugs never goes away, instead, things seem to escalate further with the high schooler possibly dealing drugs herself.
“Amidst the intertwining lives in the town of East Highland, 17-year-old Rue must find hope while balancing the pressures of love, loss, and addiction,” reads the official description for Euphoria’s second season.
Sam Levinson, the creator of the hit show revealed he took inspiration from his own life when thinking of the characters. “I just feel like there is such a disconnect between what young people are going through and what everyone else thinks they’re going through,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “We didn’t want to pull any punches. We didn’t want to make it feel like we were holding anything back or that we are hiding anything.”
Season two of Euphoria will be available to stream on BINGE from January 10.
