They say everything old is new again. From Reese Witherspoon to Lucy Liu, it seems like every celebrity is reviving their haircuts from a previous era, often with a modern refresh. Emma Stone is the latest to resurrect a decades-old style of hers. At Louis Vuitton’s cruise show in Italy on May 24, the actor was photographed with brand-new curtain bangs and her recent bob haircut from a few months prior, which she also brought back after years of rocking longer hair.
Stone wore a cropped crochet cardigan and matching slit skirt for the resort runway, complete with accessories from the designer. Her longtime hairstylist Mara Roszak split Stone’s soft, wispy bangs right down the middle and swept them to each side of her head. Simple black eyeliner and a coral lip by makeup artist Rachel Goodwin seamlessly pulled the look together.
Though Stone first debuted French bangs – a fringe short in the center of the forehead and longer toward the outer cheekbones – at another Louis Vuitton show during Paris Fashion Week in March, it appears she’s since switched to the more versatile curtain bang. Prior to this year, she was last seen with bangs almost a decade ago during the mid-2010s, wearing both side-swept and blunt iterations of the style.
A-listers like Dua Lipa, Jessica Alba, and Kim Kardashian recently opted for big chops as well, adding to the resurgence of the ever-popular curtain bangs.
