Skincare can be overwhelming, there’s no doubt about it. Finding what works, and ruling out what doesn’t work for your skin, can be a minefield. Faced with this issue, the askbella Beauty Bot was created to help you take the guesswork out of skincare.
askbella is Australia’s first online destination that uses a skin quiz and AI technology — called the Beauty Bot — to analyse and match your skin to a range of products that target your individual concerns. According to askbella, 74% of beauty customers reported feeling overwhelmed by the numerous product choices, which inspired the creation of the Bot.
The Beauty Bot allows users to access a free, detailed skin analysis and recommends a tailored routine that you can purchase altogether or as individual products. Brands stocked on askbella include Klairs, Dr Jart, MAKE P:REM and COSRX.
“We’ve created askbella to make selecting products easier,” said founder Elaine Yang. “By doing a skin analysis for our customers, they’ll be shown the right products for their unique needs the first time, instead of being presented with a huge range and trialling a number of different products until they find something that works.”
Research undertaken by askbella found that 57% of beauty shoppers prefer being left alone when shopping in-store, while 36% would be open to using a virtual assistant to help them select new beauty products. With many beauty services going virtual during 2020, it makes sense that more people are open to the idea of a virtual beauty assistant.
“We know that beauty shoppers prefer to be left to their own devices when they are researching products and making a purchase, but they often make purchases based on popularity, without understanding the effects of the ingredients,” said Yang.
“The askbella Beauty Bot is the first of its kind in Australia, educating shoppers, offering ingredient-first, high-quality product suggestions and making it easier for shoppers to feel confident about their purchase, without overwhelming them with choices or sales pitches.”
