Soon You Can Buy the Exact Neon Rollerblades Ryan Gosling Wears in “Barbie”
Calling all “Barbie” fans: starting next month, you can buy the same rollerblades Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie wear in the upcoming Greta Gerwig movie. On June 1, Australian skate brand Impala will release a “Barbie”-inspired gear collection that includes a nearly identical replica of Ken and Barbie’s neon-yellow inline skates – complete with hot-pink wheels and laces. If you really want to channel Gosling’s Kenergy, Impala also designed a set of knee, elbow, and wrist pads decorated with a colorful camouflage pattern and a three-pack of “Barbie”-themed tube socks to complete the collection.
Fans first caught a glimpse of the highlighter-colored skates when paparazzi captured Gosling and Robbie filming along Venice Beach in California last summer, both clad in vibrant ’80s-inspired outfits and identical rollerblades. The retro skates also make a hilarious cameo in the “Barbie” teaser trailer that dropped in April. In the clip, Robbie’s Barbie asks Gosling’s spray-tanned Ken, “Did you bring your rollerblades?,” to which he matter-of-factly responds, “I literally go nowhere without them,” lifting them by the laces as proof.
The entire “Barbie” skate capsule will be available to shop in Impala stores, on the brand’s website, and on zappos.com starting June 1. This gives you plenty of time to score a pair of rollerblades and hit the streets for some practice before the film hits theaters on July 21. Get the full scoop on pricing for each product ahead.
