Can you believe week one of MasterChef Australia: Fans & Favourites is over already? And what a week it was! The contestants took part in an enormous service challenge, cooked up some delectable dishes, and of course, the ‘Fans’ and viewers at home witnessed the ‘Favourites’ re-enter through those iconic MasterChef doors.
In the premiere alone, three immunity pins were handed out in the first episode — the only ones to be offered all season — and won by Tommy Pham, Harry Tomlinson and Christina Batista.
We had a lovely first week with no eliminations, but of course, this is a competition, and on Sunday night, we’re set to say goodbye to our first contestant.
So much has already happened this season, and there’s even more to look forward to. We’re still waiting to see Michelin star chef Marco Pierre White enter the kitchen, after being noticeably absent the last few years, and of course, dessert king and former MasterChef contestant Reynold Poernomo is expected to set a wickedly hard challenge.
The cooking competition is on five nights a week on Channel 10, Sunday-Thursday at 7.30pm AEDT.
Oh, and in case you’re wondering, MasterChef Australia will air as per normal on Anzac Day public holiday (Apr. 25).
We cannot wait to see how the competition plays out. The question on everyone’s mind right now is: Can Julie Goodwin, Billie McKay or Sashi Cheliah do what’s never been done before? Can one of them win MasterChef Australia for the second time?
