Farmer Wants a Wife: Meet the Women Trying to Woo Farmer Benjamin
The new season of Farmer Wants a Wife is upon us, and that means it’s time to meet a slew of new hopefuls, the ladies (and this year, men!) who are hoping to find their one true love, and embrace country living in the process.
Farmer Benjamin is a 33-year-old sheep farmer from Guyra, New South Wales, and he’s hoping to find a woman he’s “emotionally, intellectually and physically attracted to”. She’d be someone who’s “independent, funny and creative”.
“She should be grounded but not rigid,” he said in a press statement. “I’m not sure if these are values, but a woman who has dreams and aspirations is something quite alluring.”
When Farmer Benjamin’s not busy on the farm, he’s likely engaging with one of his creative outlets, like music, art, theatre or travel — he has a degree in drama, produces music and DJs on the side of his farm work — or playing sports.
“Fusing creative and farm life is something that I find quite interesting,” he said.
Farmer Benjamin is looking for a partner who values “communication and expression” as much as he does, because “relationships are fundamentally teams” at the end of the day.
“Communication is critical if this team is going to be able to conquer a little slice of the world, if not all of it,” he explained.
Of course, he’s not just looking for someone to chat with.
“Raw unbridled passion and intellectual stimulation are magnificently important in a relationship,” he added.
Farmer Benjamin’s philosophy on love is one you may have heard before. It’s “Omnia Vincit Amor” — ie, love conquers all — and in five years’ time, he’s hoping “to be happy and healthy with a partner who is equally happy and healthy on the farm, living [their] best lives”.
While he doesn’t have any children currently, he “definitely” sees himself with a family down the line, but he doesn’t have a definite timeline for when he wants to have kids — that will be a conversation to have with his partner.
“I certainly don’t want to wait 20 years to begin,” he said. “Nor do I want to be fertilising eggs straight off the bat.”
Of course, Farmer Benjamin is just one of the five farmers who’ll be on the lookout for love this season on Farmer Wants a Wife.
The other farmers include Farmer Ben, from Wingham, NSW, Farmer Will, 26, from Berriwillock, VIC, Farmer Harry, 24, from Kyabram, VIC, and Farmer Paige — the show’s first female farmer — who’s 28 and from Cassilis, NSW.
Without further ado, let’s meet the women who may end up as Farmer Benjamin’s forever love.
