Rihanna is casually serving up some ’90s beauty inspiration while supporting her boyfriend, A$AP Rocky. The singer and entrepreneur – who has just been announced as the Super Bowl Halftime Show headliner – was seen wearing the “supermodel lip” trend as the duo attended a Rolling Loud afterparty.
Rihanna’s version of the look stayed true to the trend’s roots and featured the classic dark-brown lip liner, but instead of pairing the colour with a matte lipstick and leaving it at that, she added a gloss on top to give it a slick, shiny finish.
’90s supermodel lips have made a huge comeback thanks to celebrities like Megan Thee Stallion, Lizzo, and Marsai Martin wearing the trend. The ’90s have also continued to see a resurgence in beauty and fashion trends today, with everything from barrettes and butterfly clips to crystal gems and thin brows re-entering the spotlight.
With Rihanna being all but certain to give us plenty of head-turning beauty moments when she performs at the Super Bowl in February, allow this lip look to hold you over until then.
