Snapchat’s Getting Spooky For Halloween With All-New Lenses, Bitmoji Costumes, and Map
Thanks to Snapchat, you don’t have to worry about dressing in costume to feel spooky this Halloween. The social media app is rolling out new Halloween features that range from scary lenses (that look more real than ever) to six new Bitmoji Halloween costumes to a haunted-looking Snap Map design and even a “Lazy Girl’s Guide to Halloween” which allows users to try on makeup products and even buy them through the app for their costumes (or day to day lives) – how neat!
With all the new innovations, we don’t see a reason to leave the couch this Oct. 31, unless of course, you really want to. Get the full Halloween experience through Snapchat, and see all the gory details of what you can expect ahead.
Bitmoji Halloween Costumes
Snapchat brought back its Bitmoji Halloween costumes that include six new outfits: a fairy, witch, clown, ballerina, angel, and devil. The costumes are the perfect way to spice up your Snap Map and get in the spooky spirit, but if a costume’s too bold for your liking, there are festive shirts and hoodies to choose from as well.
How to change your Bitmoji outfit:
- From Snapchat, tap on your Profile in the top-left corner.
- On top of your 3D Bitmoji you’ll find a hanger icon on the bottom left. Tap on the hanger to open the Avatar Designer. You’ll be taken directly to the Bitmoji Fashion wardrobe, where you can access the Halloween costumes.
- Choose your favorite costume.
A Spooky Snap Map
Oct. 31 will be a spooky surprise as Snapchat’s Snap Map will transform into a dark purple color for Halloween. Plan your trick-or-treat route or lurk on friends to see where they’re congregating – we know you’re curious.
Haunted Lenses
Using a brand new technology called volumetric video, Snapchat is transforming the way we look with nine new lenses that will morph your face and body into chillingly real-looking creatures. From spiders to butterflies to cyclopses and more – you don’t want to miss out on what these lenses are capable of.
