Key Largo was just named the No. 1 trending destination in the US by TripAdvisor, and honestly, it’s not hard to see why. With its breathtaking ocean views, delicious food, and affordable accommodations, we love that the sometimes-forgotten spot is rising in popularity once again. TripAdvisor saw the biggest increase in positive reviews, booking interest, and searches over the last year for the Florida Keys island, and although it’s only 30 miles long, don’t let the small size fool you. Key Largo offers some of the best nature attractions out there, like scuba diving among coral reefs and swimming with dolphins. While we’re certain a heavenly slice of key lime pie is enough of an excuse to pack your bags and go, here are a few more reasons you should visit Key Largo this year.

It Has Some of the Sea's Best Underwater Landmarks
One of the greatest adventures in Key Largo is the amount of abundant underwater landmarks, and they’re so accessible! The Key Lime Pie Is Like Nothing You've Ever Tasted Before
I can personally attest to a Florida Keys key lime pie being incomparable to any other dessert. You’ll be wanting to eat a whole pie in one sitting. One of the most fun (and yummiest!) things to do in Key Largo is sample all things key-lime-flavored, like key lime popsicles, key lime shakes, key lime coconut patties, and more. You get the idea.

There's No Shortage of Activities
Key Largo might seem like a tiny island, but in retrospect, it offers some of the most nature-filled adventures. From parasailing to snorkeling to jet skiing to paddle boarding, the list of water activities is endless. And if you aren’t a fan of the ocean, there are still plenty of things to do on land like exploring the Florida Keys Wild Bird Rehabilitation Center and, of course, lounging by the pool.

It's Truly an Escape
Key Largo is the more relaxed version of its cousin, Key West. If you’re looking to unwind and chill poolside, this Florida Keys island is for you. With less of a nightlife scene, Key Largo is perfect for those who want to fully relax and recharge.
