There are plenty of reasons you should have more sex, so if you need to spice things up, maybe it’s time to try out some new sex positions! You’re surely already familiar with sex positions like missionary, doggy style, cowgirl, and others, but there are a lot – and we mean a lot – of variations on those. Plus, there are so many other positions, including ones that require a serious level of flexibility and stamina (we recommend saving those for partners who really know what they’re doing in bed).
What’s worth noting is that nearly all sex positions can be adapted for whoever you’re enjoying a romp in the sack with. While some people expect these positions to be reserved exclusively for penis-to-vagina penetration, they can also be enjoyed anally, by two vaginas, or in any other pairing (or grouping) you’re working with. Sex can be enjoyed equally by all – you just have to figure out the best way to make a position work for you and your partner(s) (you can even add your favourite sex toys for an extra bit of spice). In this standard sex position, one partner lies flat on their back while the other partner lies over them to enter them. It’s an intimate position where you and your partner can see each other while having sex.
2. Amazon Sex Position
In this position, one partner is on top and calls the shots as they’re being penetrated. The partner on the bottom raises their legs so that the person on top has something to hold onto.
3. Cowgirl Sex Position
The cowgirl position has one partner on top. While the bottom partner’s legs are usually flat, they can also raise them.
4. Car Sex Position
A car sex position can truly be whatever you want it to be – but one of the most popular car-sex positions is for one partner to sit upright in the seat with the other partner on top.
5. Lotus Sex Position
In this position, one partner sits upright with their legs crossed, and the other partner sits on their lap with their legs wrapped around their partner’s back. It brings both partners close together for maximum intimacy.
6. Pregnancy Sex Position
To help take some pressure off while pregnant, try spooning during sex, with your partner entering you from behind while both lie on your side.
7. Eiffel-Tower Sex Position
This position takes at least three people. One partner bends over to form the middle of the Eiffel Tower and gives oral sex to a person in front of them. Another person enters the bent-over person from behind.
8. Coital Alignment Technique (CAT Sex Position)
One partner lies on their back while their partner enters them as if in the missionary position. The person on top pushes up into an Upward Dog yoga position to add more satisfying pressure.
9. Piledriver Sex Position
It takes some flexibility and skill to master this position. The person on the bottom throws their legs over their head so that all of their weight is resting on their neck and shoulders. The other person penetrates them from above, like a jackhammer or piledriver.
10. Doggy Style Sex Position
This popular position involves one partner on their hands and knees, with the other partner entering them from behind. This allows the partner on top to use their hands easily for either leverage or stimulation.
11. Butterfly Sex Position
In this position, one person lies on a bed or surface with their legs hanging all the way off so the other person can penetrate them from the edge of the bed. This requires minimal effort on the part of the person on the bottom.
12. Full Nelson Sex Position

As the name suggests, a mirror is involved in this sex position. One partner enters from behind as both parties watch each other go at it in the mirror.

In this position, one person lies flat on their stomach with their hips slightly raised while the other partner enters them from behind.
19. Eagle Sex Position
In this position, the person on the bottom lies flat on their back and puts their legs in the air in a spread V. The other person enters them while holding on to their legs.
20. Chair Sex Position
Any chair sex position can be fun, but a simple one is to climb into your partner’s lap in a chair and grind down as they enter you.
21. Pretzel-Dip Sex Position
For this one, one partner lies on their side with one leg slightly raised. Their partner gets between their legs to enter them, with their body between the legs.
22. Pretzel Sex Position
The pretzel sex position is essentially the same as the pretzel dip. The two of you are folded into each other like pretzels for intimate sex, with one partner between the other’s legs during penetration.
23. Snuggle-Lovin’ Sex Position
Lie side by side in a spooning position, facing the same way, and have your partner enter (or insert a toy) from behind or reach around for manual stimulation.

One partner starts in a plank position, and the other partner lifts their legs up like wheelbarrow handles while penetrating.
25. Leapfrog Sex Position
Get into position like you’re doing doggy style, but have the person on the bottom drop their head down to the bed. This thrusts your backside up into the air so your partner has more to hold on to.
26. Valedictorian Sex Position
This oral-sex position finds one partner flat on their back while the other lies over their head with their genitals in their face. This allows the person on the bottom to pleasure the person on top.
27. Corkscrew Sex Position
There are a couple ways to go about this position, but having your bodies in a twisted position will accomplish what you’re going for. One way to do it is to have one person lying slightly on their side with their partner between their legs. You’re basically scissoring your legs together during penetration.

44. Magic Mountain Sex Position
Each of you should sit on your buts with your legs spread, knees bent, and your arms behind you. Scoot toward each other until you connect.
45. Ballet-Dancer Sex Position
In this standing position, the receiving partner lifts one leg to wrap around the other person as they enter them.
46. Cross-Booty Sex Position
This one starts as missionary before the person on top turns slightly so that the two bodies form an X shape.
47. Cowboy Sex Position
