Katy Perry Is Saving Her Iconic Wardrobe For Daughter Daisy: “I Think About It All the Time”
The clothes I’ve inherited from my mum and grandma are some of my most precious possessions. There’s something indescribably special about holding onto pieces that are passed down, and with the way nostalgic styles always come back around, outfits from decades ago have the potential for a second life. Katy Perry knows the value a wardrobe can have (hers is both vast and enviable), which is why she’s saving her wardrobe for her own daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom.
Katy and Orlando Bloom’s 8-month-old won’t be digging through mom’s closet for quite some time, but the singer is ready to hand over her favourite pieces whenever Daisy is ready. During a recent chat with POPSUGAR for her new song “Electric,” Katy opened up about her eagerness to give her daughter “carte blanche” to access all of her outfits.
“I think about it all the time,” Katy explained. “I do a lot of cleanups, but I do have some stuff always that I’m thinking about.” Ever since she found out she was having a girl, Katy knew she’d want to share her clothes with Daisy. “I need them to go somewhere,” she said. “I want them to be worn again.” She joked, “[Daisy will] probably just be goth, and like, ‘No, Mom. Thanks.'” Given Katy’s incredible outfits from over the years, something tells us Daisy will be psyched to try them on when she’s older.
Although Katy will be waiting a while to pass her wardrobe onto Daisy, she’s enjoying the new beginnings that come with motherhood. Earlier this month, she celebrated her first Mother’s Day, and wrote a sweet message of gratitude for all the other mums out there. “I found everything i was ever searching for when i became a mother,” she wrote on Twitter. “So grateful for that profound, deep love and honoured to join the mama club.” Echoing these same feelings, Katy told us becoming a parent is the highlight of her life. “It’s a game-changer. It’s amazing. It’s the best decision I ever made.”
