You Can Virtually Tour the Harry Potter: A History of Magic Exhibit For Free Right Now
Today in PSAs about fun and free at-home activities your kids will love, I’m delighted to report that the Harry Potter: A History of Magic exhibition is ready to be virtually explored from the comfort of your couch. Originally housed at the British Library in London, the sprawling display has been available to tour online for nearly two years through the Google Arts & Culture platform and garnered renewed interest after being spotlighted in the new Harry Potter at Home hub.
The interactive exhibit allows you to get up close and personal with various spell books, artwork, and magical artifacts from the Wizarding World. Get up close and personal with the Ripley Scroll, a lengthy manuscript that details how to make the Philosopher’s Stone. Admire the sketches of Jim Kay, the artist responsible for illustrating the Harry Potter book covers in color. Check out some of J. K. Rowling’s early notes from when she was first conceptualizing the Harry Potter book series. Learn the history behind popular Hogwarts classes like Charms, Herbology, Potions, and more.
