Donald Glover and his partner, Michelle White, share two sons, but based on social media and interviews, if you blinked, you might miss the fact that he’s a dad at all. The very private actor and musical artist – who performs and releases music as his alter ego, Childish Gambino – rarely shares tidbits about his two sons, but we have been made privy to some facts about them here and there.

Legend Glover
Donald and Michelle’s first child, a son named Legend, was born in 2016. The details of his birth are pretty slim, and his name wasn’t even announced until July 2017, when Donald dedicated his song “Baby Boy” to Legend at the Governors Ball Music Festival. Donald shared a few details about his toddler while promoting 2019’s The Lion King, which he starred in as the voice of adult Simba.
“My son, he loves The Lion King, he’s a big, big fan, and of animals in general,” Donald said on Jimmy Kimmel Live. “He can run faster on all fours than two feet. That’s not a joke. . . . I didn’t want to tell him, ‘Oh I’m Simba,’ [because] this is probably the only time in history this will happen where a kid knows a movie and his father is the [main character]. . . . Yesterday I was like, ‘Hey, you want to go see The Lion King?’ just to see if he might notice my voice or whatever. And he was like, ‘Oh, sure. Beyoncé’s in it, right?’ And I was like, ‘How did you know that? But also, Daddy’s in it! I’m in it, too!'” Ha! Looks like Legend is part of the Beyhive!

Unnamed Son
Donald and Michelle’s second son, whose name hasn’t been shared, was born in 2018.
On Donald’s latest Childish Gambino album, 3.15.20, one of his young sons can be heard speaking over the outro of “47.48.” At around the 4:35 mark, you can hear Donald ask the boy, “What do you love?” His son responds, “I love.” Donald follows up, “Who do you love? Me?” The kid answers, “Yeah,” before Donald continues, “Anyone else?” The boy replies: “Mom and Hulalo. And Santa. And I love – and I love Roland. And I love myself.”
Although it’s unclear which of Donald’s two sons is speaking on the track, based on ages we’d assume it’s Legend. And if that’s a correct assumption, it’s possible that either Hulalo or Roland could be the name of Donald’s younger son. (Or maybe it’s neither. Or maybe his name is Santa, but we’d guess that his son’s talking about good ol’ Saint Nick here *wink*.)
