Who says happily ever after is just for Disney princesses? Graphic designer Ashton Rice (@ashton.creates on Instagram) believes that villains should have the chance to find true love as well, which is why she’s been turning some of the most iconic women baddies in Disney history into beautiful brides on social media.
Gorgeous white dresses with lacy, shimmery, and patterned details? Check. Colorful bouquets with trinkets unique to each woman? Check. Headpieces, stunning wedding rings, and radiant smiles? Check. If I weren’t already married, I would totally want to copy one of these looks for my big day (five years isn’t too early for a vow renewal, right?!).
Turns out, weddings are actually on Rice’s mind a lot lately, which is why she has so much fun creating these pictures. “I love the freedom to create things that I want to see,” Rice told POPSUGAR. “I am obsessed with weddings right now, so I had a lot of fun building the ‘dream’ weddings for characters that wouldn’t normally have one.”
This also isn’t Rice’s first time dabbling in fan art (which is not associated with the Walt Disney Company in any way). She actually created a Princess Brides series first, which garnered such a positive response on Instagram that she decided to create the Villains Wedding series as a fun twist.
“I don’t think you can think of Disney villains and not think about Maleficent, Ursula, or Cruella,” Rice said. But she also wanted to feature villains that don’t always get as much attention as they should. That’s why she included ones like Yzma from The Emperor’s New Groove, the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland, and Queen Grimhilde from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
From there, Rice let the villains’ personalities lead the way in her creations. “I really chose based on their body types and personal styles – or what I think they would be,” she explained. “Maleficent is known for her dramatic outfits, V-necks, and fitted looks. Cruella wouldn’t be seen without fur in some capacity, so it didn’t make sense to not include that in her bridal look.”

Maleficent From Sleeping Beauty
With her long-sleeved, formfitting dress and matching white headpiece to go over her horns, Maleficent looks absolutely regal in this dress. Her bouquet features maroon roses with a golden charm of her pet raven, Diablo, dangling off it. The green, emerald-cut ring completes the look.

Ursula From The Little Mermaid
Ursula is a bride who is truly feelin’ herself in this long-sleeved mermaid dress (no pun intended), featuring poufy shoulders and a deep V-neck. She’s wearing her classic red lipstick and pretty teal eyeshadow on her big day, and she holds her purple bouquet featuring squid tentacles and a gold nautilus shell charm. Her ring is a pretty teal oval cut with a V-shaped wedding band.

Queen Grimhilde From Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
On Queen Grimhilde’s wedding day, she’s rocking a trumpet-style dress with sheer bell sleeves and off-the-shoulder straps. She wears her iconic gold crown with a white headpiece and dark red lipstick. Her bouquet matches her lips, with an apple charm (with a bite taken out!) to remind her of her dark past. Her marquise-cut, dark-red ring is the final touch.

Cruella From 101 Dalmatians
Her wide smile is the first thing you’ll notice about Cruella’s wedding day – she’s just so happy! Her slinky slip dress has a low neckline, which she pairs with a gorgeous white fur coat, of course. Her bouquet features black, red, and white flowers with white pearls and a dalmatian-spotted ribbon. Finally, her black baguette-cut ring looks stunning on its silver band dotted with red gems.

The Queen of Hearts From Alice in Wonderland
It’s her big day, and this time, the Queen of Hearts is turning heads instead of chopping them. She wears an A-line dress with diamond details on the bodice, a full skirt, and a slit up to her knee. She wears gold heart earrings that match her gold crown, and her long white veil features tiny red hearts. Her bouquet is a mix of red roses and white roses with red paint dripping off, as well as cards tucked in. Finally, her pear-shaped diamond ring has tiny red heart gems on either side.

Yzma From The Emperor's New Groove
Yzma looks pretty in pink! She’s wearing a fitted dress with a belted waist that features shimmery pink sequins and a half-tulle skirt that flairs out from her hips. Her long eyelashes are covered in mascara, and she wears a floor-length veil with long feather earrings. Yzma holds a big pink bouquet with teal and black accents and a tiny poison-bottle charm, and she wears a large marquise-cut diamond ring with pink and silver bands. Absolutely gorgeous!

Lady Tremaine From Cinderella
In true Lady Tremaine fashion, she doesn’t look too bothered to be at her own wedding, but her style is still impeccable. She’s wearing a white gown with a sweetheart neckline and a lace overlay, but it’s the red detailing at the bottom of the dress that really makes it stand out. Her bouquet includes delicate pearls and the iconic green jewel from her outfit in the film. Lastly, her wedding band has crown detailing to show everyone who’s really in charge.

Madame Medusa From The Rescuers
If anyone knows how to make an entrance, it’s Madame Medusa. She’s wearing a simple strapless wedding gown that brings the drama with its massive puffy sleeves. She accessorized with her favorite teal earrings, and her bouquet is an explosion of colorful feathers. Her engagement ring is a round red diamond with gold detailing.

Mother Gothel From Tangled
She may not have hair as long as Rapunzel’s, but Mother Gothel’s wedding gown is still long, flowing, and beautiful. She’s wearing a cape-like dress with a more shallow V-neck. Her bouquet, of course, nods to Rapunzel with its purple flowers, and her engagement ring is fit for the royalty she wishes she was.
