We’ve all spent plenty of time indoors recently, but we’re about to convince you that spending one more night in is a very good idea. This month, Cancer Council Queensland is launching its annual Girls Night In fundraising event and all you need to do is have a great time catching up with your friends (and raise some money in the process).
So, here’s our pitch. Staying home for one more night to host your own Girls Night In is all for a great cause. Specifically, it’s all designed to raise money with your friends to help people who are impacted by breast and gynaecological cancers. All you have to do is register to host your own event — movie night, dinner party, spa night, whatever you want — and have everyone donate as little (or much) as they can. All money raised goes towards research, prevention and support for all breast and gynaecological cancers.
For our event, we’d be planning a lush night that’s far removed from the very many nights we’ve had at home in the past two years. Imagine a decked out dining table with chic candles and linen tableware — add a huge cheese board and great company into the mix and basically, it’s our perfect night. The fact that we’re raising money for a great cause is just the cherry on top.
Every single year, 4,000 Queenslanders are diagnosed with breast and gynaecological cancers and this initiative is designed to support those very people. It’s all of our goals to kick these cancers, so we can have a future free from these very diseases. If you’re interested in participating in this year’s Girls Night In fundraiser, register your interest on the Cancer Council Queensland website (then get planning).
