Following the first (and long-awaited) “Tears of the Kingdom” gameplay video, Nintendo has officially announced the Zelda Switch OLED and opened pre-orders.
The limited edition Switch has been rumoured for months, but this is the first we’ve heard anything official. For what it’s worth, it looks like rumours were true: the console features artwork that also appears on the collector’s edition box, and the left Joy-Con has the same green runic pattern that makes up Link’s new arm. Both Joy-Cons are gold coloured, a striking change from every other Switch console. The dock is white with a golden Triforce insignia in the centre.
It’s coming out on May 12 — the same day as the game releases — and it will cost $549, which is just $10 more than a regular Switch OLED. A matching case ($39.95) and Pro controller ($109.95) are also available.
