The Xbox Series X is the best Xbox console you can buy right now, but actually getting your hands on one requires a combination of luck and determination. Much like the PS5, retailers around Australia are starting to have new stock dropping more regularly, but it’s still impossible to know when the sales are about to begin.
To help you jump on the sales as soon as they go live, we’ve rounded up all the places you can pre-order or buy an Xbox Series X in Australia. We’ll update this page as soon as stores announce a restock or sales go live, with links to the new and upcoming deals at the top of the page.
We’ll also throw in Xbox Series S sales when it’s a particularly good deal, but this console isn’t nearly as hard to find, so we’ll mostly stick to the coveted Series X. You can compare the Series X and Series S consoles here to decide which one is right for you.

The Xbox Series X is the more premium console compared to the Series S, but you’re getting an immensely powerful console with larger storage options as well as a disc drive. Xbox Series X vs Xbox Series S: What’s the Difference?
There are a few major differences between the Series X and Series S consoles — most noticeably, the Series S is far cheaper but the Series X is more powerful.
The Xbox Series S retails for $499, which is a $250 saving compared to the $749 Xbox Series X. If you spend the extra money on the Series X, you’re getting almost double the amount of internal storage, more processing power, a Blu-ray drive and 4K capability.
But there are a lot of features that are the same in both consoles, like the handy Quick Resume feature, which lets you jump back into a game in seconds instead of sitting through the launch. They also share features like raytracing, variable rate shading, spatial sound and can reach up to 120FPS. They can also play the same games — the only difference is you can buy physical copies of games on the Series X but you’ll need to download everything on the Series S. Certain games will look nicer on the Series X, especially if you have a 4K TV or monitor.
Go with the Xbox Series S if you want to save money. If you want a more powerful console, the Xbox Series X in Australia is the right choice for you.
