Margot Robbie is bringing “The Sims” to the big screen. After the massive success of “Barbie“, Robbie is back at it again, this time with everyone’s favourite virtual life simulator.
Since its debut in 2000, “The Sims” has taken the world by storm. I mean, who hasn’t spent countless hours building dream homes, pursuing dream careers, and maybe even starting a few virtual families in “The Sims”? With 200 million copies sold worldwide, it’s safe to say this game has earned its spot in the gaming hall of fame.
For those unfamiliar, “The Sims” is a life simulation game where players control every aspect of their avatar’s life, from their personality traits to their career choices. It’s like playing out your wildest dreams in a digital universe, one virtual day at a time.

Margot Robbie Ventures Into Video Games
Margot Robbie’s LuckyChap Entertainment is teaming up with the creative powerhouse Kate Herron to bring The Sims to life on the silver screen. LuckyChap has roped in Roy Lee and Miri Yoon from Vertigo Entertainment, along with Electronic Arts, the brains behind the game itself. With such a dream team on board, you can bet this adaptation is going to be nothing short of epic.
Much like “Barbie”, “The Sims” doesn’t follow a set storyline. It’s all about you, the player, calling the shots and making things happen. It’s like having your own little sandbox to play in, and trust me, it’s addictively fun.
And who better to helm this exciting project than Kate Herron, the brilliant mind behind the first season of “Loki”? Teaming up with screenwriter Briony Redman, Herron is poised to bring the virtual world of “The Sims” to life in a whole new way.

“The Sims” Movie Release Date
Now, we don’t have all the deets just yet. The project is still in its early stages, and we’re eagerly awaiting more info on when we can expect to see our favourite Sims hit the silver screen.
But here’s a fun fact: this isn’t the first time a movie based on “The Sims” has been in the works. Back in 2007, Fox had plans to bring the game to the big screen, but the project hit a snag and was eventually scrapped in 2019 following the Disney-Fox merger.
