March 10 is Mar10 Day, an annual celebration of Nintendo’s biggest Main Character Energy man. This year, Nintendo is celebrating with a limited-edition Mario Switch and a heap of cheap Switch games on Amazon. Despite looking like the Mario Switch wasn’t going to come to Australia, we’ve just learned that it’ll be available in stores on March 31.
What’s so special about the Mario Switch? It’s not quite as exciting as the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Switch OLED or the rumoured Zelda Switch OLED, sadly. It’s a regular Switch (not Switch OLED) with a red (not neon red) Joy-Con pair. As far as limited edition consoles go, it’s not the best we’ve seen. But if you’re in the market for a Switch and prefer the darker red, then it’s at least good value. It comes with a digital copy of “Super Mario Odyssey” and a set of “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” stickers. There’s no price yet, but we’ll share all the pre-order details as soon as we get them.
In addition to the Mario Switch, there are also a number of sales happening across the web. Amazon is currently offering up to 29 percent off games like “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe” and co. Standout deals include “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” for $73 and “Pokémon Scarlet and Violet” for $62.
There’s a huge range of games on sale, with discounts ranging from 15 percent to 29 percent. Select controllers and accessories are also going cheap, and the Switch OLED is 7 percent off. For your convenience, we’ve rounded up every deal in the Mar10 Day sale below.
