Kim Kardashian left it all on the weight-room floor. On March 26, the reality star and Skims founder shared videos of herself hitting the gym and putting her muscles to the test with celebrity fitness trainer Senada Greca. “I’m gonna show you guys a little bit of my workout today,” Kardashian captioned videos of herself lifting weights on her Instagram Stories. “It’s been three months now working out with @senada.greca. We lift weights for two hours daily and do 5 or 6 days a week.”
Kardashian’s weightlifting regimen began with a split-stance good morning. The exercise strengthens your glutes and hamstrings and can be done with just your bodyweight, but Kardashian added a 40-pound barbell across the back of her shoulders, which increased the challenge. With the 40-pound weight still in place, Kardashian then added a resistance band around one leg at a time for banded-thigh lateral squats. “We do 4 sets of 12 reps on each side,” she said.
“I see such a difference already.”
Next, she moved to the floor for bent kneeling good-morning thrusts with the 40-pound bar still resting across the back of her shoulders. Working her glutes and thighs, she continued the strength workout by switching to heels-elevated banded goblet squats with a 20-pound weight. “This exercise is one of my least favorites but you gotta push through even when you don’t want to and I’m scared of @senada.grace,” she wrote alongside a cry-laughing emoji. Finally, Kardashian completed the routine with a few weighted step-ups using a 15-pound weight. “Check out my triceps and delts,” she said.
Kardashian previously made headlines with her controversial weight-loss approach leading up to the 2022 Met Gala. She famously arrived wearing Marilyn Monroe’s “Happy birthday, Mr. President” dress from 1962, a loan from Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum. To fit into the garment, Kardashian reportedly lost a significant amount of weight. “I didn’t starve myself,” she told Vogue in May 2022, “but I was so strict.”
Now, it seems Kardashian has a new fitness goal: building muscle. “My goal was to gain muscle and be strong and I see such a difference already,” she wrote on Instagram. “I’m proud of our commitment together. It always starts with small goals.” See her entire fitness regimen ahead, and read more about how to build muscle here.
