Finding the perfect winter wedding guest dress is an artform. First and foremost, you cannot (and should not) upstage the bride or groom, even if you have no idea what they’re wearing. Secondly, head to Instagram or TikTok and look at the wedding venue, especially if the invite doesn’t specify a colour palette or theme. You can see what the backdrop is for the best pictures, what guests wore to other weddings at that location or even what colour the interiors are so you can avoid clashing.

My last tip is to consult the group chat. If someone from your larger friend group is getting married and you’re stuck for ideas, hit up the other wedding guests and ask them what they’re wearing. And you don’t have to worry about accidentally pulling up in the same dresses as your mates.
