The end of the year is fast approaching and while that might feel absurd — where did 2022 go?! — this means that sale season is almost upon us.
For those of us that need to knock a few pressies off the Christmas gift list, the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales will be welcome sale events.
With both dates fast approaching, here’s everything you need to know about their sales. We’re sharing when exactly to mark your calendars and set your alarms, what brands are likely to take part in them and how you can make sure you’re getting the best possible fashion and lifestyle deals.
What Is Black Friday?
In short, Black Friday is one of the biggest sales events in the retail year. Each year, it happens on the last Friday of November; in preparation for the start of holiday shopping. It’s the little sister to Cyber Monday, which then happens on the Monday following Black Friday each year.
Most of Australia’s major retailers — as well as a bunch of cute boutiques — offer some of the best discounts and deals they’ll have all year. While many Black Friday sales and deals happen online, taking over online retailers and offering exclusive deals from the comfort of your own home, they’re also often available in-store.
When Are the Black Friday Sales 2022?
This year, in 2022, Black Friday falls on Friday, November 25. This means we’re less than one month away from shopping some of the best deals we’ll see all year!
How Does Black Friday Work?
All you have to do is jump online (or head in-store) to your favourite retailers taking part in the Black Friday sale, for the entire day of November 25, 2022. The deals and discounts will automatically be applied. Being on November 25, this means that Cyber Monday is on 28 November, 2022.
