Why Yes, That IS Storm Reid in Crinkled Silk on the Miu Miu Runway

Kaia Gerber and Gigi and Bella Hadid were among the usual suspects on the Miu Miu runway. But do you know who was not expected?! Who can easily pull off a Miu Miu look on the red carpet, and recently did at a movie premiere? Storm Reid, that’s who. The Euphoria star and activist literally has “Fashionista” in her Instagram bio, so we aren’t surprised at all by this new partnership, cemented by her stylist, Jason Bolden, and Miuccia Prada.

Speaking of the seasoned designer – who always wraps Paris Fashion Week with a bang – she determined Storm should showcase one of her new crinkled silk gowns, which were offered in every color from rust to chartreuse and electric green, and featured plunging necklines in silver and rose gold. The evening wear was styled under oversize wool coats, making for a very Carrie Bradshaw-in-the-snowy-streets type of moment.

The rest of the enticing collection shifted back and forth from edgier territory to a swinging sailor vintage vibe, but Storm Reid’s look, complete with a rhinestone-adorned hair brooch and embellished peep-toes, pretty much summarized the full Fall/Winter 2020 line all at once. It was playful, unexpected, and smart, which is usually how we tend to describe a Miu Miu offering.

This time around, you really shouldn’t miss the checked wool dress that would make Cher Horowitz weak at the knees, the gray plaid catsuit that’s naturally a better layer than your standard tights, or the patent leather rose petal Mary Janes, which hit the runway in an unmissable pink. Also worth mentioning? The drop crystals swinging off of mesh gowns and ’80s-style prom dresses, along with the leather prairie dress – leave it to Miuccia to dream up one of those.

Scroll down to watch Storm strut her stuff in a quick video, then take in the full Miu Miu Fall/Winter 2020 range, and keep your eyes peeled for Rita Ora, who also made an appearance on the catwalk.
