What to wear to your own hens party? At one I recently attended, the bride-to-be (my best friend, Lydia) opted for a super hot ’60s-inspired look, with a modern twist. She wore a white satin mini covered in little red love hearts, with pale pink platform pumps, wide-framed white sunnies and her hair in a half-up-half down mod-style, with a white tulle bow in the back.

Lydia is in the middle, with the insanely long legs and gorge love heart mini.

“When I started looking for outfits, I had two main ideas: something cute and white, like a pre-wedding dress vibe, and then something a bit bolder,” Lydia tells me in a hungover voice note, when I ask her about her outfit inspo, days after the big day.

“Then I found this ridiculous one with love hearts and it made me think ‘this is the one day that I can be as extra as I want and no one can say anything about it’, so I went for it. I wanted it to be a combination of revealing and sexy, but still a bit bride-like. The aim was to look hot as f*ck and I wanted it to be obvious that I was the bride-to-be. I think that’s a big one, you want everyone to know that it’s your party, you know?”

And that she did. Pulling off the perfect marriage (hehe) of cute and sexy, with a love heart midi that very much stole the show. White for the wedding vibes, hearts because lurrrrve, and a tight fit because she wanted a bit of slutty element, too. Just the right amount.

“You’ve just got to lean in,” she advises. I’ve always cringed at the idea of a Hens party, because they can look so tacky… but when you’re actually in it, it’s fabulous. And it’s like, why not? It’s actually the most fun. Go big!!!”

So, according to Lydia, think girly, bold, extra, kitsch… and you’ll be on the right track. Here are eight dresses you could wear to your own hens party that’ll undeniably steal the show.

THE ICONIC

Pink Tulle, Baby!

This gorge Claris: The Chicest Mouse in Paris Fashion Tulle Dress in Pink ($199) is as girly as it gets! While it might not be super revealing up top, the skirt shape and length will highlight your pins… especially if you pair it with some bold platform heels.

Princess Polly

Queen of Hearts

This Tiffany Midi Dress ($28) is more of a youthful Y2K vibes. You could dress this number up, by pairing it with some pink heels — like these Princess Slingback Heels ($57) — and a cute little pink handbag. Throw in a cute up do in there, and you have a seriously stand out (and affordable) lewk.

THE ICONIC

Sugar & Spice & Everything Nice

This Leo Lin Fortune Stripe Tie Back Dress ($489.30) is more unique for a hens party, which is why we love it. You could bring in elements of pink and white — whichever feels right for you — with the shows and hair accessories, to jazz it up.

MESHKI

Silky Thigh-Slit

Get your class on with this Claire Satin Drape Dress ($127), which has just the right amount of leg showing to be sexy, while keeping it super classy with it’s high neckline and silky material. This dress would look amazing with some statement earrings, like these Heart Pearl Earrings ($17.95) and a classy stiletto heel.

Runaway the Label

Who, Me?

If you’re looking for a fun mini, you can’t go past this Runaway the Label Gigi Mini Dress ($139). Fun but still fashion, this dress is revealing without being overly sexual. A vibe.

Bride-To-Be

This Johnny Feather Mini ($266) gives off very much “hello I’m the bride-to-be” energy, and we’re certainly here for it. Feathers are everywhere right now, and they add a beautiful feminine touch to this otherwise sexy mini dress. You could go full bride and wear white shoes and pearls, or you could funk it up with pink accessories.
