Springtime means we’re working our way to warmer weather, excitedly freshening up our wardrobes in anticipation for summer. So what exactly does that mean for the POPSUGAR Australia team?

From a skin-tight tee you can dress up or down, to a butter-coloured vest and pants set that works both as officewear and weekend wear, and a leather handbag that suits nearly every occasion (bar a beach sesh), here’s exactly what we bought this past September.

Shanii Novak, Agency Partnerships Executive

I am a die-hard SKIMS fanatic, and am slowly making my way to buy the whole collection. The material is insane. It lasts through multiple washes and is great as a basic staple when dressing up or down. I bought the Fits Everybody T-shirt in multiple colours and style this with a blazer, loose-fitting pants and sneakers for a more casual look or wear it with some leather pants and pointed-toe heels for a night out. Definitely encourage everyone to jump on the SKIMS bandwagon.

SKIMS FITS EVERYBODY T-SHIRT, $48

Alyce Thomas, Senior Agency Partnerships Manager

I love this Dissh set for work and play! I chose the butter colour as I thought it would suit my blonde hair and (hopefully) tanned skin in the summer. The set is perfect for mix and match with my other linen wardrobe staples.

DISSH BANKS BUTTER LINEN VEST, $79.99

I treated myself to the Sir set for my birthday. If I’m going to spend a little more, I always tend to go for black or white colour to make sure it ages well. As it’s a set, I can also mix and match the skirt and top.

SIR LUCELIA CROP AND LUCELIA SKIRT, $180 and $320

Georgia Angelini, Strategy Executive

I stumbled across this gorgeous top while having a browse on Petal + Pup a few weeks ago. I’ve loved this strapless, twist-top style for a while now, and have been seeing it everywhere so am very excited to finally have gotten my hands on one of my own! I don’t usually go for bright colours but I felt like this blue was the perfect colour for summer.

PETAL + PUP HUDSON STRAPLESS KNIT TOP, $59

Sangeeta Kocharekar, Lifestyle Editor

I can never have enough black work tops, and I thought this one would be great for the warmer weather. The high, ruched neckline makes it interesting, and being black, I’ll be able to wear it with almost any type of pants.

FRIEND OF AUDREY ZELIE RUCHED SIDE TOP, $169.95

Same as with black work tops, I can never have enough black sunnies. I like that these frames are classic — I could wear them for years and they wouldn’t date — but that they’re a bit eye-catching too with the angular frame.

SITO KINETIC SUNGLASSES, $89.95

I love the feeling of wearing a super feminine bra, and this one I got ticks all my boxes with its pale purple colour, floral pattern and general frilly-ness. It fits really well, too, and doesn’t ever feel uncomfortable or appear visible under a T-shirt like some frilly bras can.

BRAS N THINGS AMELIA FULL CUP UNDERWIRE BRA, $59.99

Now that the weather is (allegedly) warming up, I wanted to add a new pair of sunglasses to my collection. I usually steer towards wireframe sunglasses that suit every occasion, so I wanted to have some fun for the summer and opted for these Quay Australia sunnies in green.

Many of my outfits are neutral or dark in hue, so these add a fun pop of colour with literally no effort at all.

QUAY HYPED UP SUNGLASSES, now $39

Ever since I saw Emma Chamberlain wearing the GANNI Recycled Wool-Blend Jacquard Vest ($285) at Copenhagen Fashion Week last month, I haven’t stopped thinking about it. I think about how it will look over jeans, how cute it’ll be paired with a skirt and loafers, or with trousers for work — basically, I just think about it all the time.

My usual approach to buying any investment piece like this one is to leave it in my cart for a week and if I’m still thinking about it after the week, I buy it. So considering I’ve checked out this vest repeatedly for the past month, it’s finally time to take the plunge.

When I found out I was going to the Singapore Grand Prix this year, I immediately jumped online in search of a new outfit. I came across this denim boilersuit and thought it was so cute and on-theme. This was my first Grand Prix, so I wanted to be on-theme but also comfortable because the Singapore humidity is no joke. I wore it to the pit lane walk, and I couldn’t be happier. It was comfortable, even in 30-degree heat, 100% humidity and about 1,000 bodies crammed into one long waiting line. I wore it with sneakers, but you can wear it with sandals, too. It’s so versatile and despite being denim, I didn’t find the fabric to be clingy or hot. It kept me cool and comfortable all night.

INSIGHT AVIANNA DENIM BOILERSUIT, $119.95

For me, a little brown bag is the perfect summer staple accessory. I had been eyeing off a few different brands, but I ultimately settled on this Rylan Studio one as it’s the perfect mix of classic/timeless but also still feels very on trend right now. Also, a fun fact: it’s a bit of a Mary Poppins bag, it definitely fits more than it looks like it would!

RYLAN 3.2 COGNAC MINI SATCHEL, $749

Allie Charles, Senior Account Manager

Prepping for summer I’ve been on the search for the perfect chunky sandals and I’ve been eyeing off the Voss Quad Sandals from Dr Martens. I think these have the perfect aesthetic between 90’s grunge girl and sophisticated summer.

DR MARTENS VOSS QUAD SANDALS, $230

Laura Roscioli, Lifestyle Producer

I’ve been wanting a relaxed style suit for ages, and this green Sportsgirl set is giving me huge fun spring energy. I’ll be pairing this with either black heels (for a night out) or some hot pink platforms. I need to add some more colour to my wardrobe this spring, so I’m going big.

SPORTSGIRL RENEE TEXTURED WIDE LEG PANTS, $79.95 (top no longer available)
