At the Starrett-Lehigh Building in New York City where Altuzarra’s spring 2023 runway show took place, Dove Cameron looked all manner of cool. The singer donned a plunging white ankle-length dress embellished with black shell motifs all over the bodice. Her sleeveless design conveyed sporty elegance, but a knee-high slit on the left and half-open back added a seductive element.
The 26-year-old star styled the formfitting garment with patent leather platform sandals in black, and because it wouldn’t be a Dove Cameron outfit without at least one edgy element, she opted for sharp cat-eye sunglasses. But her accessories didn’t stop there. Before entering the building, Cameron was photographed with the Paco Rabanne 1969 Chainmail Sphere Shoulder Bag ($1,170 USD) and a fuzzy black coat hanging off her shoulders.
“@josephaltuzarra ❤️ @altuzarra thank you for a beautiful morning,” she wrote under an Instagram carousel post, which shared a preview of the collection as well as snaps of her sitting front row and posing in the venue. Meanwhile, the catwalk opened on a series of sportswear staples – from menswear-inspired suiting separates to classic button-down shirts (worn under preppy cable-knit sweaters and parkas) – before giving way to the highlights.
Models paraded in psychedelic Shibori pieces hand-dyed in Japan, conveying themes of nature and exploration. As the brand explained on Instagram, “The collection explores the lure of the desert. Inspired by The Teachings of Don Juan and Desert Solitaire, both published in 1968, and the adventurous spirit of the traveller, this season charts the path to mysticism, blurring lines between man and nature, the physical and spiritual.” The fashion designer also experimented with denim for the first time, offering up a pair of jeans, a maxi skirt, a jacket, and a two-piece set.
Ahead, view more angles of Cameron’s outfit, and check out the show highlights.
