Fran Drescher’s role as Fran Fine on the ’90s hit show The Nanny was iconic not only for her signature laugh and comedic timing but her amazing outfits as well. After all, she was “the flashy girl from Flushing, the nanny named Fran.” In case you missed it, the cast of the show recently reunited to stage a virtual table read of the iconic series’s first episode. They even got Ann Hampton Callaway to sing the theme song she wrote for the show. While it’s been more than two decades since the CBS sitcom went off the air, the reunion had us thinking about the show and how Fran’s outfits are still very much in style.
The show’s costume designer, Brenda Cooper, nailed ’90s fashion to the max. Fran had a knack for pulling off even the hardest of trends, like every single animal print imaginable from tiger to zebra. She often paired chic miniskirts with tailored blazers and sheer tights. We’re clearly not the only ones who loved her outfits because there’s an Instagram account documenting all of them called whatfranwore, and it has over 300K followers! Keep reading to see 20 of our favorite looks Fran wore on the show.
