Anne Hathaway graced the 2023 Met Gala in a Versace look that won the red carpet. Her floor-length white gown featured an extreme cutout that spanned from her plunging neckline all the way down to her platforms. The design boasts two other bodice cutouts and an alternate side slit, all held together by strategically placed safety pins. Hathaway finished the look with fingerless gloves, platform heels, and a choker and wore her hair in a half-up, half-down style.
The “We Crashed” actress has established a reputation for stylish moments, so it’s no surprise that she commanded the spotlight on the red carpet yet again. Working with one of Hollywood’s most notable stylists Erin Walsh, Hathaway is widely considered a fashion darling, and this year’s Met Gala look is no exception.
Although she didn’t attend last year’s gala, the 40-year-old has delivered many memorable moments for the First Monday in May over the years. In 2009, she wore a plum-colored Marc Jacobs minidress in line with the theme “The Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion.” Hathaway later graduated to longer silhouettes with a back-baring, red Valentino gown she wore to the 2018 Met Gala. Notably, in 2015, she pushed bounaries with a gold Ralph Lauren hooded dress that looked as elegant as ever.
Hathaway is clearly one to watch, as she embraces even bolder fashion choices. While promoting her new film, “She Came to Me,” the mom-of-two confidently rocked a black Alaia hooded bodysuit and skirt set and a sheer Valentino bow dress with gloves, proving her sartorial versatility.
