If you made your way through the Brooklyn Museum during New York Fashion Week on Sept. 8, you might have come across lavish Dior designs, paintings that date back centuries, and even Yara Shahidi looking like a work of art. Like a cross between 1921 and 2021, Yara attended The Exhibition Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams on Wednesday while wearing a Dior Haute Couture Fall-Winter 2022 black mohair houndstooth sweater, a flannel skirt with a high waistline, and Dior heeled sandals. “Don’t touch the art,” she captioned a post on Instagram, and we don’t need to be told twice.
The exhibit, curated by Florence Müller and Matthew Yokobosky features never-before-seen silhouettes marking 70 years of Christian Dior’s fashion impact, but we couldn’t take our eyes off of Yara’s shimmering sweater vest. Reminiscent of a starry night, the sweater is covered in constellations of glitter, pairing perfectly with the drama of her pleated skirt to create a look that’s so romantic it should be framed alongside all of the exhibit’s other beautiful designs. Admire the star’s elegant outfit ahead.
