Zendaya has been dominating the screen in recent years, from her award-winning performance in HBO’s acclaimed series “Euphoria” to her roles in blockbuster films like “Spider-Man: No Way Home” and “Dune.” The actor got her start on screen as a teenager in the Disney sitcom “Shake It Up” and has since grown to be one of the most celebrated young actors of the last decade.
Throughout her journey, Zendaya has had an incredible support system, which in part is made up of her parents, Claire Stoermer and Kazembe Ajamu Coleman. Though the two split up in 2016, they have not only remained friends, but they’ve also made it a priority to stand behind their daughter no matter what. They constantly share support for her; for example, in 2021, Stoermer posted an especially sweet birthday tribute for her baby girl on Instagram. “greatest day of my life!” she wrote, recalling the day Zendaya was born. “I wish I could be with you on your birthday, but such is the life of a busy woman! Just know that I am with you always and I love you forever, always, and more. Happy birthday my beautiful sweet child! Love mommy.”
Though her parents aren’t together, Zendaya has taken some lessons from their relationship into her own love life. In 2021, she referenced her parents when asked about the height difference between her and boyfriend Tom Holland. “This is normal too,” she said of their height difference, per People. “My mom is taller than my dad. My mom’s taller than everyone.”
