Australian Survivor: Brains vs Brawns has now officially kicked off for 2021, with a new batch of very brave contestants taking on a series of intense challenges in order to win $500,000.
This year, of course, the popular reality competition aims to answer the age-old question of what reigns supreme? Mind? Or Muscles?
The castaways this year have certainly got their work cut out for them regardless of which team they are on, as they fight to survive the searing heat and treacherous creatures of the Aussie outback up in Cloncurry, Queensland.
“From a production point of view, it was tough, but for the contestants, it was even harder; you’ve got that blistering temperature, you’ve got the wildlife that can kill you, snakes, spiders, crocodiles, and then there’s the lack of food,” host Jonathan LaPaglia told POPSUGAR Australia.
Not to mention the fact that they will have to outwit, outsmart and outlast the biggest snakes of all — each other.
Speaking to The Latch about the goal of the game, LaPaglia said, “Look, I think season one was a little hamstrung by the idea of mateship.
“It’s something that’s part of the Aussie culture, but it’ll only get you so far in the game of Survivor, because the name of the game is voting everyone else out, right?”
With that said, here is everyone who has been voted off of Australian Survivor: Brains vs Brawns so far.
Australian Survivor: Brains Vs. Brawn airs Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays at 7.30pm on 10 and 10 Play on Demand.

WINNER - Hayley
“The first thing on my agenda is to buy high-quality bed sheets and really good pillows, and set up my bed. Because I slept in the dirt for 48 days and I deserve a good bed!
“After that, we probably want to buy a house. We’ve been renting for a long time so I want to buy the family home that you would usually take decades to achieve. So I think that’s going to kind of kickstart our plans in that way.”

Cara
“George and I speak three or four times a day and we’re waiting for the time because he’s in full lockdown. I also speak with Hayley a lot and I spoke with Flick yesterday, but going back to Geroge, our friendship is really good. He always refers to me as his much, much, much older sister.”

Wai
“It was a bit of a bittersweet moment. I was gutted to be going but also I was just reflecting on what an amazing experience it had been and everyone helped me out so much — even yesterday with George and the challenge. It was definitely a nostalgic bittersweet, little bit happy, a little bit sad moment.”

Laura
“At first I thought that maybe there were a couple of other names in there, but once we started getting down to the pointy end and more and more votes kept coming for Cara, I just knew that she had voted for me and I was packing my bags to go.”

Gerald
“When it happens, you never really know that it’s going to be you and in the moment it’s always going to be a shock. It’s not a great feeling. But I wasn’t angry or anything like that, I was more disappointed with myself because I knew George had been a mole. From the moment Kez got voted out, I knew it was George 100%.”

Baden
“Some people have just been passengers and haven’t really been making any moves so, certainly, if any of those get to the finish, I wouldn’t be voting for them.
“But there’re a number of people that I am a big fan of so it will be difficult to make the decision if I get two people to the finish that I am a fan of — then I’ll have a real decision in front of me.”

Simon, Brawn Tribe
“I played my last 72 hours back in my head over and over again. And I looked for my ‘What did I miss? What did I not pick up on at the time?’ And I couldn’t find it.
“I thought I might have found it in the episode last night. in the edit, but it wasn’t there. The entire tribe played such an amazing role in blindsiding me that I had no idea, it was so well-orchestrated.”

Rachel, Brains Tribe
“I thought I could appeal to George’s ego, but I just wasn’t able to get him over the line. I reckon if I’d been in for just a few more hours, I would have been able to crack him.”

Shannon, Brawn Tribe
“I just should have stayed Brawn strong or just kept my mouth shut because I was so close to Merge. And I had numbers and I was feeling really good where I was sitting and I shot myself in the foot.”

“Hayley is a savvy player and she’s been a fan of the show and the game her whole life, which I didn’t know at the time. I would have been a bit warier of her if I had known.

Mitch, Brains Tribe
“George is a fantastic goat, he would have to be one of the best goats that I’ve seen. The only problem is, you want a goat to be predictable, you want to be able to manage them, but I don’t think he’s manageable. He’s largely chaos.”

Gavin, Brawns Tribe
“It was a huge shock, it really was. It felt like time stood still and the only thing I could remember or hear was Flick saying ‘sorry Gav’ and it felt like an eternity as she was saying it.”

“I really wanted to wait until merge to bring out crazy, nutjob Janelle, but national TV won’t see that now.”

“I also gave up drinking and drinking coffee and just really sort of made sure I was at a good base level to have to deal with what was coming ahead.”
